Hi to the new folks here, and hello to everyone—
Quick alert on a new essay of mine out today, on the films of Frederick Wiseman. The occasion is Wiseman’s new CITY HALL, an excellent if sometimes flawed late-career film of his, and a good excuse to take a look back over his body of work as its evolved over 45 films and several decades.
I also correct the record, sort of speak, on the Paris Review’s unfortunate lifting from my previous profile of Wiseman in their own Art of interview series.
More to come, soon.
